The focus of these workshops was on using natural forms to create ‘Imaginary Ecosystems’. This was a response to the growing concerns about climate change and the damage being done by humans to fragile ecosystems.
The students looked at the work of artists Yellena James, Pinar Yoldas and Courtney Mattison. They all use the natural world as a starting point for their work and use a range of techniques and media to apply their designs to boxes which were then stacked to construct a structure representing an imaginary ecosystem incorporating all their designs.
